I'm just to tickled about this. I just got my liscense not too long ago and finally got everything worked out with the lady I'm renting my kitchen from. I've made all my business cards, flyers and brochures. I've even signed up to have a booth at a local craft fair. I'm doing anything and everything I can to get some business. But the one thing I didn't have and wanted was a pink chef jacket. I've been watching them on ebay, looking at different websites and begging my husband to buy me one{with no luck I might add}. Well my mom was nice enough to suprise me with one that she made! I can't stop looking at it, it's so pretty. From the time I was little {about 8} I always said I wanted to be a chef. Well that never changed{well I decided on cakes}, I got into Johnson and Wales in RI, but didn't go{met my husband}. I don't regret that decision, but now I feel like I may get a second shot at my dream now. Seeing my little chef jacket hanging with my name on it almost brings me to tears. I just wanted to share with you ladies on here who have the same dream and let you know it can become reality. This is not my ideal situation having to rent a kitchen and not having my own, but I'll make it work. God gives everyone a special talent and I'm glad I get a second chance to use mine. Thank you everyone at CC for inspiring me again.

Thank you ladies so much. My business name is My Sweet Baby Cakes, I got it from my two boys actually. I call them all kinds of different "pet" names and combined two.

Mom's are wonderful! Mine bought me a chef's jacket for my birthday and had it embroidered with my business name. I wasn't even wanting one, but she thought it would look more professional when delivering wedding cakes and such.

That's what I thought VACakelady. That's why I wanted a jacket so bad and was trying to get my hands on one before my craft fair. I just think it makes you look so professional {even though I don't have a degree}. My mom does do sewing and what not, but she has been so busy lately I'm really suprised she had time to do it. She makes jockey silks for the horse farms down hear. She had one in the Derby last year and one in the Belmont this year.

That is sooooo cute. I want a yellow one! Where did she get the pattern for it at. My step grandmother sews all the time and I thought about asking her to make me one to wear when I deliver my cakes. Good luck with everything!!

You know what Cookie Brookie, I'm not sure where she got the pattern from but I know McCalls has a chef jacket pattern{actually 2 of them}. If your step grandmother can sew I would get it and see if she could make it for you. You can usually get the patterns on sale at Joann Fabrics or Hancock fabrics from 99 cents to $1.99. Yellow would be really pretty, so would a light blue. I've already asked her to make me a lavender one when she has the time.

Well done, your message is bursting with pride which is heart warming to hear - good one you! I took a look at your web-site and love your cakes, particularly Nut Brown Hare - so cute.

My next door neighbour made me a cute little dress which is made from a fabric with a wedding cake pattern - lots of little wedding cakes all over it - it's gorgeous! So I know how it feels to have something to wear to make you feel 'cakey.'
