Hi am going to attempt my first stacked cake. I have read the articles posted about how to dowel it, assemble, etc. I am planning of covering it with BC with MMF accents if this is possible. I am unsure of what kind of cake to use--I would assume something firm but I am not sure. Please help.

As long as it is well supported with boards and dowels, most any cake will work with buttercream. (if course, not angel food icon_smile.gif

just be sure the layers are leveled and flat.
