I am a cake decorated who has been very lazy over the years not improving my skills. I have taken the Wilton Cake Decorating course in May 2005 and have not done a whole lot of cakes. I have a lot of potential and a lot of ideas. I get discourage sometimes because I don't have all the tools I need to complete a cake. But, being on the forum and reading about all the nice substitue tools you can use for cake projects was very encouraging and I have learnt alot from that. Being on cake central for the past 4 weeks, I feel so alive to start doing something I always love. Being distracted by unversity and the kids (2) should be no excuse (my evenings are free). So thank you cake central and all its faithful members for sharing the photos, articles and encouraging everyone to persue that passion that is inside them.

I am the same. There are times when I think I should just do my day job and then I come on here and I become like darcat! Looking for an excuse to bake! When I recently went a couple months without doing too many cakes and I wasn't really practising my husband lost 17 ponds! He now weighs a little less than he did for our wedding! LOL
