I here so many people on here talking about marshmellow fondat and I think I would like to try it! The lady I work for just uses Wilton and only uses it for decorations because of the flavor and cost. Could someone tell me this recipe and share any pointers to help me get started on this new medium? Thanks Katie icon_biggrin.gif

If you click on the recipes section and type in marshmallow fondant you'll find the recipe. I think that I'm one of the few people that doesn't care for the taste of it.

Hi Katie and welcome to CC!

Here is a link to making mmf:

I have found that I don't always use all the powdered sugar that the recipe calls for. I usually go by feel (when it's just not sticky anymore). I usually stop using the mixer as it comes together and I'll be able to handle it to knead in the last of the sugar.

Try it, its lovely. There is a recipe on here that works great. making it yourself eliminates the cost and it tastes soo much better than the wilton fondant. There is a "how to article" on here also that has step by step pics. Pointers add color when you melt the marshmallows, let gravity help you when you cover your cake so you dont get wrinkles, i like a thicker layer of buttercream under the mmf it is also nice for those who wont eat the mmf. this link will give you all you need to get started : http://www.cakecentral.com/article47-How-to-Make-and-Decorate-with-Marshmallow-Fondant-MMF.html

goodluck!

I'm fairly new to MMF and I made it for the first time a few months ago. I used the recipe from here. It was so easy to make......however, I don't have a KA, so my husband helped me knead it, (I had a lot to make). Doesn't taste too bad either.

Lightly grease your hands with crisco while using it and it helps keep it pliable.

Have fun with it!!

I guess I should have added to my comment that I usually use Toba Garrett's recipe that is listed in the recipe section. It's simple as well, and I think that it has a milder flavor than the mmf.
