PS - and to meet the lady herself!!
I don't even know where the show IS and I want to go. Shirley, your cakes are truely awesome. I hope you win big time! Either way you're a big winner in my book!
Wow... what I great color! I love CC's dusts. I used them on my SIL's wedding cake and it was wonderful.
Thank you guys. Aren't those dusts great? I also found I didn't need to use as much to get good coverage, so they are economical as well.
OMG! I had to see all you photos and well........well..... I am beyond speachless. Those cakes are more then amazing. They are gorgeous!
I wanna do that!!!!
The flowers look so real. Fantastic job.
Good luck
I'm new here, but I HAD to comment on this.
That cake is BEYOND amazing! I mean, WOW!!!
How nice of you, thanks. I am happy to know you like my work. 3 days to go till the show, I'll post the results.
And yet another, "Holy Moly" moment brought to us courtesy of ShirleyW.
Shirley, You Rule.
Shirley, I don't know how you do it!
You're just amazing.
I'd like to offer a compliment that acknowledges the level of difficulty in your projects, and your mastery of the various techniques, but I wouldn't know where to begin with these creations.
I'm just a grasshopper chirping at the Master's feet.
Well you know Jan I have really only updated my style since joining cake forums about 7 years ago and learning about classes from instructors like Ewald Notter and Nicholas Lodge. I do think a person needs to have a bit of talent, but more than that I think you need to have the desire to learn and some really good teachers. I have also learned and am still learning from members of CC and Sugar Buzz. There will always be something new coming along that some brilliant sugar artist created, fortunately most are willing to share how these things are done. So I always believe in the theory of paying it forward, if it is something I have learned along the way I am always willing to share. I'm not going to be around forever, you have to pass these things on the the newer generation of decorators coming along.
