I believe they are just showcasing items that are available for sale on Amazon.com and should be new, although sometimes they also have used ones for sale too.
I keep looking at the Bellysock ads and hoping to goodness that lady has had that baby!

I have clicked on amazon, to check the books, and they are recent and they do have them.....
The Bellysock add is so funny to me...here we are on a cake decorating forum and someone thought this would be a good place to reach Bellysock shoppers--I love it! The eBay adds are great too...nice to see what the cake pans are selling for. I saw an add recently for the Precious Pony and she was up to $41

You are so right about the book ads, I want them all, and can't decide on any particular one!
Recently I went through and did my own little survey on those pans. The highest price I saw was My Precious Pony at $78, had 30 bids on it. A slot machine also went for $78, and Thomas The Tank goes for $25 to $35 on a regular basis. The Little Mermaid highest I saw was $35 and the grand piano got $46. If you think about how long those characters have been around, it is amazing how much people want the pans.
