Why do all my cookies turn out so cakey? Not that I don't love cake but, I like cookies occasionally too... I always end up buying a roll of cookie dough...

If your recipe includes baking soda or bak powder, the leavening will puff the cookie. If you want rolled cookies, try the No-Fail cookie recipe in the recipe forum. If you put the try of cut out cookies in the freezer for a few minutes before baking, the cold cookie will not spread or puff.
