Hi, all ~

Just wondering, the 10x powdered sugar at Sam's called "Bakers and Chefs" - is this cane or beet sugar? It doesn't say on the bag. It seems to taste like cane, not as sweet, etc. Does anyone know for sure?

Thanks,
Julie

It's cane sugar. No worries. icon_smile.gif

I've used hundreds of pounds of it over the years and have always been very happy with it.

I've never heard anything about using cane sugar vs. beet. Is there something wrong with using beet sugar?

there was a big thread on this once. i used the sam's club sugar a lot. some people said they didn't like the texture as much- i sifted it after reading that, just to see if there was a difference. i've never had any complaints, and i really can't taste a difference. and if you sift it, there wasn't much texture difference, at least to me icon_biggrin.gif

Hmmmm... Wonder what I've been using. Living in Michigan (where there are lots of sugar beet farms) I might have been using beet sugar without knowing it. I'll look closer next time I shop. I learn something new every time I log onto this website icon_biggrin.gif !
