This may be a dumb question, but here it goes,...How do I attach them to the cake, do I just lay them on the cake or do I insert the wires into the cake....Any help is greatly appreciated....

I think I read on another post, some use toothpicks.. are you setting them on top or the sides?

I'm placing some of them on each layer, they are on wires, in sprays, I guess...am I supposed to cut the wire off or trim it down

Thanks for responding

Depending on the style of flowers, you can use several methods. be sure all the exposed wires are covered with florist tape.

One of the easiest for me is Wilton flower picks. It is little tube that inserts into the cake and you can just trim the wires to fit and stick the flowers in after the cake is set up. This makes transporting the cake much safer. the flowers won't move during the drive.

Or, you can use large straws, trimmed to fit and hold the wires.
Or you can twist the wire into a shape that holds the flower and set it on the cake.

Some people have been known to stick the wires into the cake, but I don't think it is a good idea.
