I recieved an email a while back showing photos of someones work... one of those emails that had been to a zillion people.
Anyway the photos were of someones VERY CLEVER SKILL..
they made little newborn babies out of marzipan, they were small enough to fit int he palm of your hand, hand painted I believe but so life like.... I have had a few people ask about them and wondered if anyone had attempted them or had instructions for them.
I also got that email from a friend. After posting the pictures here there was many posts that they were not marzipan and were clay or silicone. You can look for the thread and read them
I do know that they have molds for babies on Sugarcraft.com and even a marzipan recipe. I don't know how close that can get to making them look like the real thing, though.
Here's one on eBay that's over $600 now...

If you find clay baby directions or fondant baby directions (wasn't there a post in the How To Sections recently about fondant babies?) then you can use those with the marzipan.
Someone sent me the thread showing those babies that were suppose to be sugar, but they aren't. Anyway, I just made a baby out of fondant, my first one ever. It's no where close to those ones, but I was happy with how it turned out. It really wasn't that hard. Check out my pictures.
Why? They're very interesting and beautifully crafted, but what are you going to do with it? Put it on your coffee table?
Thanks for the link... they are not the exact photos that I had seen but I guess it must have been the same sort of thing....
I can put that one to rest. Thank you
