Hello all! I'm trying to make some BC roses but my first attempt failed miserably! I think that that the BC that i made was to thin. My roses kept sliding off the stick! Any suggestions of a good recipe for BC roses?! Thanks so much!

Heather....the BC recipe that Wilton uses in their classes is a good one to learn with. When you make it by this recipe...it's stiff and ready for rose making.

Class Buttercream

1 c. solid white vegetable shortening
1 t. flavoring (vanilla, butter, almond, etc)
2 T milk
1 lb pure cane powdered sugar
1 T. meringe powder (Wilton)
pinch of salt

Cream shortening and liquids. Add dry ingredients and mix thoroughly.

Beat an extra minute or so until creamy.

Yields 3 cups stiff BC icing.

I think most people use the Class Buttercream Icing from the Wilton courses, I believe it is under the recipe section. Sorry I don't use it, so I don't have it handy at the moment.
