I am working with color flow and am wondering how long it will stay soft. I am storing it under a damp cloth. Also should I keep it in the fridge or on the counter? How long after it has harden can it be kept and eaten.

Thanks

Hi Carm
I checked my Wilton book and website this is what it said
Color Flow Decorations/Storage:
Color Flow pieces should last indefinitely, if stored properly. A cool, dry cupboard would be a good storage place. Do not put the color flow piece on a refrigerated or frozen cake. If the cake has been refrigerated or frozen, allow it to come to room temperature before placing the color flow decoration on the cake.
Allowing the cake to come to room temperature should help prevent the color flow piece from bleeding which is due to moisture. Color flow pieces can be set on sugar cubes to eliminate possible bleeding.

It also said for extra to store in an air tight container with plastic over top, doesnt need to be refrigerated and will last 3-4 weeks.

Hope this helps

In my experience, color flow icing will not last more than a week to ten days. Put a piece of Saran Wrap directly on the surface of the icing so no air is present between the plastic wrap and the icing, and then seal it with an airtight lid. Try to use it ASAP, especially if you're storing it in a plastic bowl. Storage in glass is always preferable for royal or color flow icing. icon_smile.gif
