I'm looking for ideas for a grandparents cake. I offered to do a cake (or cakes) for my daughter's school Thanksgiving/Grandparents Day lunch. I saw a three tiered cake somewhere that had one side decorated for one occasion and the other side decorated for a different occasion. That is my inspiration, I'll do one side decorated for Thanksgiving and one side decorated for grandparents. Has anyone seen a cake like this? I can't find it now. It was a square cake. Any help here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi,

I didn't find much on the internet. If you do a search on "grandparents" in the gallery here, there is one with a fondant grandpa that's really cute. Good luck! icon_smile.gif

Maddog, this is just an idea but what if the top tier had a table setting with the family and the grandparents at the head of the table? Then, the other two tiers could be divided by the holiday theme. That way, the top tier sort of brings the two themes together. Just an idea.

Great ideas guys, thanks. As for the top tier being a table setting-that would be something that I would mold with fondant, is that what you were pictureing? I have never done any molding before. Any other ideas how I could present that same idea of yours. Thanks so much for your help!
