I'm about to try MMF for the first time this weekend and wondered what flavoring I should try.

I was thinking of using butter flavoring? Would that work?

Butter flavoring works best when you do half butter half vanilla. You can use just about any flavoring though. I have used raspberry flavoring before and it was great!

You can use lemon too depending on your cake - it is so good, and it kind of tastes like lemon rind or something when you eat it with the cake. I love it! I just tried butter and vanilla, and it is good. To me, just vanilla is too sweet - not my favorite.
