there are TONS of possiblititeswith MMF - dreidels (I have a buttercream one in my photos), menorahs, hannukah gelt (chocolate coins), potato latkes, presents are all "representative" of hannukah ... or any combination of those things... typical colors for hannukah are blue, white and yellow.

have fun!

Thanks for the suggestions, but if somebody is still out there with more ideas, it will be wonderful. I am a little slow to learn hehehehe and take me a little to put the ideas together icon_razz.gif\\\\ icon_confused.gif that is the reason why I am planning it so long in advance.

thank you all! icon_rolleyes.gif

blondmary: i would run a google image search on hannukah (and its many spelling variants) for inspiration. icon_smile.gif

one thought though: i'm sure your host(ess) would have mentioned if there were kosher dietary restrictions for the foodstuffs prepared for this celebration (in fact, if this were the case they wouldn't ask you to bake anything unless you keep a kosher kitchen), but just in case, double-check with him/her that marshmallows are okay. the gelatin in regular marshmallows is neither vegan nor kosher, as it is made from animal collagen.

you may be able to make MMF from kosher marshmallows (which are made with fish gelatin, and are not universallly accepted as kosher), but finding them may prove difficult if you don't live in an area with grocery stores serving a Jewish community.
