Cookies and Cream Buttercream


A great way to add flavor and crunch in between the layers.

Cookies and Cream Buttercream


  • Any buttercream icing
  • Oreo cookies
  • Small plastic bag
  • Small mallet or something to break cookies with


  1. Remove the filling from the oreos and place several cookies in a small plastic bag. Take the mallet and lightly crush the cookies to your desired size. I like for there to be some larger pieces to add more texture. Pour the cookie crumbles into a small amount of icing to your desired taste. I put three to four cookies to about 2 cups of icing. Use as a filling in beween the layers of your cake.

I do the same thing only I place the whole cookie in my food processor a few seconds to get a crumble and mix that in my butter cream. I break a couple cookies by hand to get a larger broken cookie to toss in as well.


I am going to make a white buttercream frosting add the crushed oreos. Frost a chocolate cupcake, top with a mini oreo and drizzle with melted chocolate.
