Tinted Angel Food Cake

Found this recipe in a magazine called Midwest living. This is an easy way to add a little flavor to angel food cake.

Tinted Angel Food Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 16-oz package angel food cake mix
  • 3/4 Teaspoon unsweetened kool-Aid (lemonaid, tropical
  • punch, or your favorite flavor.)
  • GLAZE:

  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 Tablespoons hot water
  • 1 Tablespoon grenadine syrup, maraschino cherry liquid, or
  • 1/4 Tespoon Kool-Aid unsweetened soft drink mix.

Instructions

  1. 1. In a large mixing bowl, combine angel food cake mix and 3/4 teaspoon soft drink mix. Prepare cake mix according to package directions, cooling completely.
  2. 2. In bowl, mix powdered sugar, hot water and grenadine syrup. If needed, add more water, 1 teaspoon at a time, until icing is a drizzling consistency; Pour over cake.
