Western Wedding
4 tier cake iced in chocolate buttercream. The base is wrapped in acutal used rope. The groom is a team roper. I tea stained the lace that I wrapped around each tier. The top layer is supported by pillars that are hidden inside each boot. The boots were pencil holders that my bride found and we had to drill holes in the bottom of each to be able to get the pillars through. Wrapped around the bottom tier is an acutal belt. I was trilled with the final result!!!
This cake is wonderful! EXCELLENT Job!!

Love this cake!!! Great job... in my fav's!!!
oh that is so neat!! i love the old west look- even gives the impression of a dusty area :) i have to say i'm in love with the cake stand :) how did you make it?
oh and i want to know where the topper and boots were found :) i just Love those boots :) the topper is perfect! i can't belive how well it works! :) i know i know this is my 2nd comment lol
The base is made from styrofoam. I used 2 ropes and just wrapped them around the styrofoam and hotguled it on. It took both my husband and I to do this because the rope was soooo stiff. One of us had to hold and the other had to glue!
The bride ordered the topper from the internet and the boots came from a western store called Santa Fe.
Wow - just beautiful!!
totally cute!
The BEST western themed cake I've ever seen!!!! Great job!!!
Oh yeah- got to be the best western cake I've seen. Outstanding creativity and work!! You should be so proud of this one!! I want to know- how did you put that belt on without damaging the BC?!
I had left the icing a little stiffer than normal because I knew I was going to wrap the belt around it. I think it took about 3 of us to hold it in place while I buckeled it! I was able to fix any indentions it made after we put it on! Thanks for the compliment! :P
I have a couple of customers wanting the boot columns for their cake. I ordered the boots off of Amazon. My question is what kind of columns did you use for them? I not sure how you adjusted for the bottom where the heels are. Could you please help me out? I would greatly appreciate it. My first cake is coming up on 5/23/15.
I know this cake was made a while ago but I have an order for a similar cake. my first question is, did you use fondant or frosting for the cake? If you used frosting how did you get the belt to stay? Also did you say you used real lace? I also had the same question about the boots and getting the pillars to stay. Did you use regular pillars? I saw a post from someone who said to glue the boots to the plate or board above? Also what size cakes were each tier?
