Ladybug Cake
This is a 2 layer 10" cake with the Betty Crocker Dome cake on top. I used a small number zero cake pan for the face and poured melted chocolate over it to get it a smooth finish. The eyes, mouth and spots are all made out of chocolate. I also did cupcakes to match. I had a great time making this one.

Spring Has Sprung
Just because I wanted to play with fondant butterflys... This cake started out as just for practice but it ended up being given to my husband's work for March Birthdays. It is "Funfitti" box mix with bc frosting and fondant flowers and shimmer dusted butterflys. I am just starting to use fondant and having a lot of fun. Any tips are welcome... p.s. I can smooth icing very well but I wanted it to have a spring sky type texture, you cant tell it in the pic. but there is some white mixed in to make clouds

Dog And Cat Cake
This cake is a 9x13 covered in buttercream icing. I made a small number zero cake for the cat and then covered it with hair using the grass tip. The dog cake was carved out of a mini loaf pan and then covered with hair using the same tip. This was one of my first cakes and I learned that you should do all the decorating on the 9x13 cake first before you put on the cat/dog because they get in the way of doing anything else. I think it looks a bit plain but now I'll know for next time.

Basketweave Cake With Chocolate Lid
This is a 2 layer 9" cake with a basket weave and an open lid made of solid chocolate. The flowers are all made with royal icing and I haven't had much experience with making them. I have also decided not to use chocolate for the lid unless it is requested. They break easily and make the cake cost more and I found that once you take the lid off no one really eats it.
