I saw several of these cakes here on CC and wanted to try one myself. I made this one for my dad's birthday yesterday. Thanks to everyone here for the great ideas and inspiration.
That's amazing! My girlfriend would like me to try something like it (cupcake size only) for her son's birthday at the drive in? How did you do the bottoms for the cupcakes?
Well done!!!! Love the display. Your clapper is edible, yes? Did you bake the cupcakes in those little white cups or just pop them in to decorate? Amazing detail on those CCs, btw. And lastly, :D what is you popcorn made of?
Thank you all for the nice comments! Honeydukes to answer your questions, the popcorn is made out of mini marshmallows then painted with food coloring diluted with clear vanilla. The cupcakes I baked in a cupcake pan without a liner then put them into the candy cups that I colored. As you can see the grease bleed though a bit so next time I would bake them in a liner so they have a double barrier to block the grease from showing.
