I made this cake for my future sister-in-law's bridal shower. I've only been cake decorating for about 8 months, but I really had such good feedback form everyone at the party. The cake is a vanilla sponge covered with fondant and decorated with sugar paste flowers and royal icing.
Excellent!! I was not nearly this accomplished after only 8 months of decorating!!
Beautiful cake! I could not do this well after 10 years.
wow!!! nice cake!!!
this is one of the prettiest teapots I have seen
Great Idea- Love this!
GREAT JOB, I WOULD LOVE TO DO ONE FOR OUR CHURCH TEA, WHAT ELSE WOULD WORK INSTEAD OF FONDANT AND ROYAL ICING
This is so cute. Wish I could do it. Is sugar paste and gum paste different?
thanks for all your kind comments. You would probably we able to cover the cake with buttercream icing but you'll have to get in really smooth. I don't think you could do the handle etc in anything else than sugar/flower paste. That's the only type of icing I know of that will get hard enough. I think Gumpaste and Sugar/flower paste is the same thing. In South Africa we refer to it as flower paste. Royal icing with tyloce.
