My husband drilled two holes in the cake board and we inserted dowel rods. Every two layers of cake have a board and we ran the dowels through the entire thing. He actually was pretty steady. Also i stacked the cake on the dowels then carved the cake making the bottom of his body smaller than the top. Thank you for your wonderful comments!

I LOVE THIS CAKE. what did you use for the sand?
I used marble cake crumbs for the sand, just spread a little icing on the board to make them stick.
