First Fondant, Ribbon Roses

First Fondant, Ribbon Roses on Cake Central

This is the first time I've attempted covering a cake in fondant...almost a complete disaster. I could not get the sides smooth. I was pretty happy with the way my fondant ribbon roses came out though...first time I tried those.

thanks for the nice comments...it was just for practice...I am hoping my 2nd try at fondant is more successful!

what I did when I mad my first fondant cake was smooth it out with my hands but I put some Crisco on my hands first. And there is also this flat instrument they sell for this, that helps flatten it. Don't worry it is beautiful anyways.
