3 Tiered Tinkerbell Bithday Cake

3 Tiered Tinkerbell Bithday Cake on Cake Central

This was three layers of yellow cake with chocolate filling, iced in BC. This was my first attempy at a tiered cake and it managed to withstand 105 degree temperatures at my daughters 4th birthday party in the park!

Where do you live and what kind of frosting do you use? I ask because my cakes start melting around 99-101degrees. I have to freeze my cakes the night before and they are still runny when I serve them.

I live in Orange County, CA, but the week of the party was super hot! When we left, the bank thermometer said 107! I used the WIlton Buttercream recipe. I baked the cakes on Thurs, leveled, filled. Friday afternoon the tiers were iced, that night stacked and left in our laundrty room (cool and dry) Sat. we put the cake on the lid of a big bin and put the bin over it as a top and left it in there in the shade until it was time for it. I was amazed that it held up!

I bet your daughter really loved it! It's amazing the icing held up. Quick question, why the 5 candles for 4th birthday?
