Grandma's Beehive
I remember my Grandma had several beehive honey pots when I was young. She is in her 80s now and has alzheimers, I hope this might bring back some nice memories for her, if even temporarily! Thanks again to Debbie Brown, but especially Sweet_as_tisse whose bunny I shamelessly copied, it was perfect to give the cake a bit of an Easter touch.
Great Job!! So cute.
That is so cute! Wonderful job with the bees and bunny.
What an adorable cake. How did you make the beehive?
Thanks...the beehive was made with a small tin (about 5 inches across) and a steamed pudding bowl. The cakes were put together and carved into shape. It was pretty fiddly! Worth it though, she is a very special lady.
fantastic job! love everything about it. your bees and the bunny are adorable.
How sweet!
by the way the grass is my failed effort at Melvira's bc smoothing technique lol! I decided I liked it. hehe!
Beautiful but your story is even more beautiful, brought tears to my eyes. I just lost my daddy last Mother's Day with alzheimers at the age of 86, and I remember how hard I tried to remind him of good things too. God will truly bless your pure heart.
Your cake is absolutely beautiful, your story is so touching, and sweet.
yes your cake is awesome but the heart that went in to it makes it more awesome great job
adorable cake. The bees are precious!!
What a beautiful cake, but even more beautiful is your motivation for making this cake! Your bunny is sooooo sweet.......
So impressive! I was going to comment how much I like the texture of the grass and asked how you achieved it, but I saw your response already! tee hee (I cheated, too, by looking at the answer). Anyway, the bees are adorable as is the bunny! Very nice job and I hope it helped your Grandma a bit!
