Thank you all so much. Darra, I just love the Viva towel method of smoothing the icing. It works every time. I'm still not sure that I'm making the roses correctly. I really need someone to show me in person how to do them. I just purchased another decorating book. Maybe the instructions will be a little easier to understand.
Your roses on all your cakes are just beautiful. There is no "right" way to do a rose. Everyone is different, and as long as they look like a rose and you'r happy with it, then your way is perfect! I think you know exactly what you're doing when it comes to decorating, you just dont' know it yet ;)
