Saltwater Aquarium Cake
This cake was made for a 50th birthday. Instead of the usual over the hill cake, I made an aquarium cake. My father has become very interested in these aquariums and had one of his own and this is my replica of the aquarium. The cakes are covered in fondant and luster dust. The cakes are tropical flavors, banana, key lime and mango, with chocolate buttercream icing. All the fish and corals were made of colored fondant also. The only non-edible item are the rocks which are floral foam coverd with fondant.
You really captured the colors of an aquarium. You did a fantastic job on the coral pieces. They look like the real thing
The colors are just striking, especially that blue, gorgeous!:)

BEAUTIFUL!! Did you color your fondant blue like that yourself, or did you buy it that way?
Yes I colored my fondant. I used wilton gel colors, a combination of royal blue, black, and violet.
