Welcome Baby Cake -- For A 4 Month Old.
10" Yellow with lemon curd. Got the idea from 2 cakes I saw on this site -- thank you! The 3-d look was really neat and not hard once I figured out the right measurements for the cake size. This wasn't for a baby shower but for a welcoming to a baby who the party-givers hadn't yet met. They really liked it!
this is really adorable...great job!
What beautiful work you do. I'm sure they loved it!
Its so adorable, I love how the blocks look 3-D. Your buttercream is so flawlessly smooth, gorgeous!
Adorable looking cake... We have a new baby arriving on the 10th of March and I wanted to try something similar to this for a cake to take to the hospital... I hope I can master the 3-D look of the letters, you did a excellent job... I may have to ask you your secret...
Thank you! These blocks were about 1 1/2 inches across, which came out to be about 7" total - perfect for the 10" cake. I drew out the blocks on paper and then traced to wax paper. Traced an impression onto the cake with a toothpick once the iced cake had chilled. I used #18 star tip for the blocks. Have fun with your cake!
Thank you for your advice.. I will make a post once it's done...
Great Job Love the colors. This is going into my favorites!!
