A friend of mine asked if I would make his wife a pop tart birthday cake. It seemed simple enough until he asked if I could stuff it with strawberries. Scratch the 9x13 cake idea and move to plan B. I came up with a basic tiered cake and used the strawberry recipe from CC (WASC method). The cake is "stuffed" with diced strawberries in a Bailey's butter cream and then frosted with regular butter cream. The "Pop Tarts" are shortbread cookies which we decorated as strawberry pop tarts

The cake itself looks OK and the tasted fine but I was devastated because my frosting did not turn out as planned. I did not have enough confection sugar so it was a tad greasy.
