This is my son's 1st birthday cake that I made. I have seen many rainbow colored cake but wanted to make a true rainbow cake. I was very happy to see the perfect rainbow shape when I cut the cake. Bottom layer is 9" round and I used a mixing bowl to shape the dome for the top layer. Buttercream frosting with fondant accents. The yellow dome is meant to be the sun coming up in the sky (bottom layer).
