Curly Bow Cake
I made this cake for my mom's birthday and carried it to our family reunion an hour away. It held up well. The first picture was taken right after I finished assembling the cake. It looked a little better the next day because the humidity caused the curlies on the bow to wilt a little, making them look more natural. The second picture is from the next day. Sorry it is out of focus. I had a small bulge in the buttercream, but oh well. I guess it can't be perfect.
The cake was actually a box cake, dark chocolate fudge flavor with buttercream icing and fondant accents. This cake is normally done totally in fondant, but I thought the buttercream would taste better.
