Thanks to other CC'ers for the idea of using a brain w/ cap as a topper. I took it a step further and made it an overloaded smoking brain by using dry ice and a tube running into the side of the brain. In this pic, you can barely see the smoke coming out just over the figure's head. Around the bottom tier, I quoted, Life is a journey, not a destination (one word on each circle.) It was a fun cake and my nephew loved it.
