Oh my, you guys make me feel great! PinkBunny - I got my impression mat from Cakes by Sam and it is really easy. You just press it against the cake and keep going around. You have to pick it up and then match it up and start again. It won't come out perfect when it meets but I just put that in the back. Boonenati - Yes, this is buttercream. TeamTreadway - Where did you get your user name? My last name is Treadway!

WOW I love it even more cause it's buttercream : ), always wanted to do something like this in buttercream and didnt know it could be done. Gotta get me one of these impression mats. Are they sold as a buttercream tool??

toddsgirl Says... 9 years ago

Yes, they say fondant or a crusting buttercream. I just let it a sit a while (maybe twenty minutes) to make sure it is crusted really well otherwise it will stick and make a mess.

Great cake!!!!!!!!! boonenati do a search under impression mat. There are a few places that sell them cheaper than Cakes by Sam the shipping from them is too high, well that's my OP I guess.
