Thanks for all of your nice comments! To make the butterflies "pop", I made each wing separately and let them harden. Then, I folded a piece of cardstock, lined with press n seal, piped the body in the crease and place the wings on either side. I used triangle-shaped make-up applicators under the cardstock to prop up the wings. When the bodies dried, I "glued" them to a plastic dowel with icing and stuck them in the cake so that the butterflies didn't touch the buttercream. I hope that makes se...
