Edible Image

Edible Image on Cake Central

critique group member: This was my first try at a cake with an edible image. I had to have a local cake store print it for me and I think for my first experience it went pretty well.

Critique subgroup member: gosh isn't it difficult cutting into a "face"?????? 8O 8O 8O 8O LOL. Your piping is very pretty. Very clean application of the image also. I'm thinking that the shape of the image lends itself to a rectangle cake tho......

critique subgroup member: your border is about as perfect as one could get. I don't know the process involved in applying one of these, but it looks like you did a fantastic job- like it was just smoothed on there almost like an air brush affect. You did a great job! :D

critique group member: I've never done an edible image, but your looks good to me! You did a great job on the border!

critique group member: I've never done an edible imagine, so I do not know what is involved. I do know that yours looks very nice and professional. I think I might have chosen to do the border in a color (red, grey, black...). I think it would make the image even more pronounced. Congrats on a successful first try! :)

Critique subgroup member: Great job on covering up the image outlines. If you were able to crop the photo I would have softened it in a "round" effect other than square but if the photo was given to you like that then you did a fantastic job at applying your first edible image!!!!!! A different colored border or the addition of some colored accents in between the shells would make the picture pop even more!

Critique Group Member: I haven't done an edible image either. You did a great job on it! It's nice and smooth with no wrinkles. When I first saw it I thought it would be better if the image were round and then after reading the other comments I realized a rectangle cake would rememdy the shape issue. Oh, and I like the softening of the picture edges.

Critique group member: Great application of the image. Fading out around the edges is nice (I disagree with a previous suggestion - stick with the white border - the photo should be the focal point). Maybe the photo could be round to fit the space better.
