The grapes have a lot of icing on them. I cover complete. Add a few grapes, let dry a little and add a few more and so on, until I am happy with the bunch.
My royal does not get hard. I use the Wilton recipe and I add about 1/2 to 3/4 Tbsp more water. You can ice these 2-3 days ahead, but, the colors tend to bleed sometimes. I try not to let the dark stems touch on these to avoid that.
