Queen Bee In Training
This was fr a girl celebrating her 13th birthday in the hospital. When the hospital staff talked to her about what kind of party she wanted, she said she wanted a cake with a crown. She also mentioned that her Nana had died the year before, and that they all called her Queen Bee. The granddaughters were all Queen Bees in Training. It's hard to tell in the picture, but there is a bee shape in the middle of the tiara, and little fondant bees around the top of the first tier.
What great colors!
Great job! Love the designs... especially the bottom tier. I'm sure the lil' girl loved it. :)
What a special cake. I'm sure the little girl felt special too. It's a really great cake. You did a wonderful job!!!

WOW this is so beautiful! Your striping us flawless! Very creative way to incorporate the bees! LOVE IT!
How wonderful of you to do this for her!! Great job!
wow the detail is amazing!
That is jus wonderful, I bet she was thrilled
That cake looks amazing! Absolutely gorgeous!
What a touching story about the cake...I know she just loved it
love the colors
Thanks everybody! The trim on the bottom of each layer is ribbon. I had a set that I found in the scrapbooking section that had several different coordinating ribbons. I bought them because I loved the colors, but I hadn't had occasion to use them. When this cake came up, I thought it would be a fun tine to break out the ribbons. :) It also ended up being perfect, because the only two colors of luster dust I had were the salmony color & the green, which my husband had gotten accidentally anyway!
How beautiful.... how did you do the trim on the bottom of each layer?
