This is my first paid cake. It's french vanilla with strawberry filling. I think I did a horrible job. I got up early this morning and was going to redo the whole thing but my DD said it was fine. I'm just very disappointed in it.

I hope this doesn't hurt your feelings. Just constructive criticism, but if you squeeze the icing bag really hard at the beginning of a shell and then reduce the pressure while moving the bag at the same time, they will come out great. Having said that I bet your customer will love the cake. It sounds delicious and that is what people care about most.
No it doesn't hurt my feelings. I like the critizism as that shows me what I have to practice on. If I learned one thing from this cake is not to decorate when you are tired and rushed. Thanks for the comments. I hope my next one is better!
I think it's a very nice cake- I am the opposite- I do my best at odd hours of the night when I am tired! Great job!
