I was inspired by all the colors and designs on the pinterest board of cake central and came up with this Chinese Lantern design. The yellow frames represent window from old Chinese times and the flower idea came from the group of flowers hanging in the sky based on one of the pinterest photo! The red middle character simply means "horse" and empasizes that it's the Year of the Horse! Usually, with a lantern, there will be hanging decorations; that's why i cut out 2 holes to put the decorations there. ( However, the decorations were purchased and were used for the complete look of the cookies.)
