This is my first attempt at a 3D cake. My husband and I are volunteer firefighters, so our son Aidan's first birthday theme was firetrucks. I have been looking at this site for inspiration for about two months now! The cake is frosted in buttercream, and the dog, hoses and plaque are made from gumpaste that i painted with food coloring! Im sure it would have looked better done in fondant, but Im not a huge fan of the taste, so I just took my time with the buttercream! My family and friends were sooo impressed I made the cake! They have been talking about it all week! Hope you enjoy! Thanks again for the inspiration, my hubbys bday is in two weeks, and Im thinking of doing a hunting theme then!
