Snowman Christmas Cake
Here's the cake I made with the snowmen I posted a little earlier. I added the top snowman - he's made of fondant. All of the other decorations are gum paste. I watched aine2's videos on how to make the snowmen and trees!

Oh, my! I am so happy that you all like my cake so much! It makes me so happy! GI, yes I did make the fondant - it's Marshmallow Fondant. I actually have a little trick I figured out - I roll out my fondant on parchment paper (w/ no powdered sugar or anything) and peel it up and put it on the same side up. Another thing I do sometimes is smooth the fondant with a fondant smoother and my hand while it's still rolled out on the parchment paper! Then, I just smooth it with my hands on the cake.
The rope is actually fondant. The trees I made are inspired by aine2 - she has a little video on her website. It's awesome!

Jolly fun cake, I must say! Love their happy little expressions. Your rope turned out very smooth. Need to get myself practicing on more gum paste! :wink: Did you make your fondant that is covering your cake? How did you get it so smooth?
