I've been doing practice cakes to try to improve my basics. . achieving even cakes, no bulges, straight sides and getting frosting on smoothly. Plus my borders need lots o' work, so I'm trying to practice. They are chocolate amaretto cake with amaretto flavored IMBC. Sparkling sugar on top. Any comments on technique are welcome. I'm giving these away, the small to the small crew working on our house, the larger to the V.A. my dad/stepmom work at. When I get a chance I'm going to take the Wilton courses.
