I popped a madiera in the oven about 30 minutes ago, at 170 degrees. But I didn't realize that the individual I got my recipe from meant 170C. I snapped and upped the temperature about 10 minutes ago, but did I realize it too late??

No problem.  It just will take a bit longer to bake completely.
