I have to bake cupcakes this weekend, but nothing fancy chocolate with chocolate buttercream.

Congratulations on the new job!

I'm working on some dragon egg mini cakes this weekend. I'm a huge Game of Thrones/Song of Ice and Fire fan, so I'm just doing it for fun. I'm using Alton Brown's chocolate pound cake recipe. The first ones are in the oven now; so far so good. I am so excited. I will definitely post photos when they're done! (I'll decorate them tomorrow; I colored the fondant for the scales last night.)

Thanks @Marian64 ‍ I'm SO excited!

My only baking, so far, was brownies...which I made today....and are totally gone tonight....I had ONE. My ever growing teenager and my hubby can NOT  be trusted around them...obviously!

@Dar917 ‍ Dragon egg Mini cakes? I can't wait to see those!

Congrats on the new job Cat! Nice clean work @shellbell181 ‍ The scarf is phenomenal!

This was a mocha flavored cake with a chocolate cage and chocolate espresso beans.

The same person was having a big family birthday party the next day. This cake fought me the whole way and the customer arrived early to pick it up and I wasn't ready! So I rushed it. It could have been better if I had more time to look at it and think about what would have made it better. The customer was happy so let it go and move on the next...

I had to do some research because this guitar is unusual with the off center whole. This guitar costs $20,000!!!

OK, let's see if this works:

900x

The Game of Thrones mini egg cakes! Took 6-7 hours total, from coloring the fondant and baking the cakes from scratch, cutting out all the little scales and painting them and placing them on. I am happy with how they turned out!

Here's my work for the week, it was pretty hectic!

I finally got my Russian tips in the mail Friday, and I had to test them out! They are AMAZING and really easy to use actually! I only tested one of the tips.

I also made this princess cake pops and cinderella cupcakes for a client:

It was also my cousin's birthday, so I surprised him with some Drake themed cupcakes:

Finally, I made a pink rosette smash cake with matching rosette cupcakes:

What fantastic cakes everyone has been making - really, really inspiring for us novice bakers.  It was my husband's birthday yesterday and he likes liquorice allsorts.....using the Lakeland anti-gravity kit here's the coffee and walnut cake I made him.
