Making a cake in shape of a football.  Any tips on how to achieve the texture for the football?

Thank you!

'Decorate the cake' has a texture impression mat just for footballs.

Just take a textured paper towel and press down if you are using buttercream.  Works like a charm!  Not sure will work on fondant or not.  I haven't tried it. Wait till the buttercream is no longer tacky or coming off on your fingers.  I don't let it get to the crusting stage, though.  Good luck!

I have seen where they use the plastic bag that oranges come in to make impression on fondant.

I am using fondant so I will check out those orange bags.  I never use crusting buttercreams so unfortunately that wouldn't work.  Thank you!
