AHello. I am looking in to starting a cake business. I am a stay at home mom and I have three years experience in a four star kitchen. I am hoping to get any advice on how to start or if this is good option for me. If anyone has advice on cost that would be most helpful. Thanks for reading:D

The 1st thing you need to do is check with your local Health Dept.  It may not be possible - against their rules.

Several states have now started what is called 'cottage food laws' which do allow baking from a home kitchen.  The health dept will give you the information you need to conform to the current laws in your area.

A(1) "Cottage food operation" means a person who produces cottage food products only in the home kitchen of that person's primary domestic residence in Washington and only for sale directly to the consumer.
