I forgot to put salt on my cake, now it taste just sweet. what can i do now. The cake is spice cake with pumpkin on it. Is there any frosting or filling that can help cut down the sweetness of the cake
please someone to the rescue please
How much salt does the recipe ask for?
I never add any salt in any of my recipes and it always turns out fine.
I know it sound crazy, but the cake asked for 1/2 tsp of salt which i forgot to add to it.
You now salt balance the sweet, so for me it taste like it is missing this balance.
So any idea for filling or frosting?
YOu may notice the sweetness of the cake without he salt, but I bet no one else will. 1/2 tsp. Is not much.
May I suggest your mind is playing tricks on you. That little amount of salt will not make that much of a difference to most people. It is only because *you know* thesalt is missing that you think it is too sweet. The nature of cake is to be sweet. I'm sure most people will not notice or complain.
thanks to everybody, i used a cream cheese frosting and everybody loved it. I was not so sure that people will actually like it because of the mistake i made but, yessss as everybody here said, no one noticed the different.
thanks you cake central friends i love you all . HAPPY THANKSGIVING
