I get lost at step 4 of these directions. I am more of a visual person and I learn by seeing. Can anyone help explain this a little better.

These are the directions:

I am trying to do this cake, can anyone tell me how to do the spiral and what size pans, please?

Thank you

It appears to me that the simplified version of this would be to reuse the top portion that you cut away from the top tier by flipping it upside down and placing onto the side bottom tier to continue with the same angle of the slope.

(use pans of your choice based on how many servings are required.)

That is kind of what I was thinking, but I wasn't 100% positive about it and that would be a lot of cake to ruin. Thank you for your response.
