Does anyone make their own white cake drums or equivalent? They are so expensive, but look great! Can anyone point me in the direction to buy the materials so I can make them myself or know of any places that are inexpensive? I really appreciate any info!

Thanks,
Laurene

www.fondantsource.com has them pretty cheap, especially if you buy 5 at a time.

Hi,
I never buy cake drums anymore. Just hot glue 3 cardboard cake circles together and cover them with the fancy foil or whatever you want.

Works like a charm, is plenty strong and much cheaper.

Try Viking Importing. (they have white, silver, and gold.)

I bought 1/2 inch foam core board and cut them to the sizes I needed.
My hubby bought some some MDF and made my heavy boards to sit the cakes on for transporting.

I do the same - cover 1/2" foamcore.
