What is the best way to make divots or the little dips in a golf ball cake? Should I scoop out half sphere shapes with a melon baller or just cover the sphere in fondant and try to press the divots into the cake? Is there another, better way to do this?

I did a good thick coat of buttercream under my fondant and used my large ball tool to press in divets. There is a picture in my photos.

Thanks! Your golfball looks great! I don't know why my ball tool didn't occur to me. I guess I'm so used to using weird non-cake things that the actual cake tools don't occur to me sometimes! icon_biggrin.gif

I've used a ball tool as well and it works great.
